Hi gang! I hope you're ready for our next set of amazing sites with free design resources and free stock images. Last time we shared 5 of the best free image web sites, which almost instantly became 6 best... :)
Some of you already suggested great sites which you will find in the list below. Thank you for those suggestions and be sure that we're going to use the resources there in our upcoming projects!
This time we'll do it differently and will start with something very interesting. Let's take a look at a carefully selected sites with free web and print design resources, which I'm sure will come in handy for most of you:
1. DesignerCandies
Let me tell you something about me first - I LOVE renders, 3D elements and such, and DesignerCandies is probably my favorite site from this list. As the authors of the site have written, DesignerCandies "is a project created by designers, for designers". You'll find over 30 packs of absolutely stunning 3D renders and a variety of Photoshop brushes, textures, patterns and print templates. Not only those resources are free, but they come with Uncopyright, which means that you can use them however you want.
We are such fans of DesignerCandies that we have used the hypnotizing Mixed Monster Renders Pack in our Mighty template.
2. GraphicBurger
Next is GraphicBurger - you can find almost everything on their site, from beautifully made mockups, to UI Kits, icons, text effects, fonts and more. The license provided gives the opportunity to use the items for both commercial and personal projects. Don't be lazy and check all categories, you won't regret it, I'm sure :)
3. Pixel Buddha
Pixel Buddha is another amazing place for free resources that can be used for print and web design. Vectors, fonts, mockups, even HTML templates, Pixel Buddha has them all. Same as in GraphicBurger, I would recommend to browse through all categories or at least look at all of the items presentations - they are crazy nice :)
4. Pixeden
Hmm...it's getting harder and harder to think of new adjectives to describe those awesome sites :D So please don't be too harsh, if you get tired of all the "awesome", "amazing", "stunning", etc. words that I'm using - just check Pixeden and tell me that, these words are not all true. You can find, print templates, web templates, mockups, icons and many more. You'll be in love in no time. The license again allows you to use the products for both personal and commercial projects, no attribution required. Of course check the Premium files as well, these guys know how to make things :)
5. Spoon Graphics
Spoon Graphics is a project by Chris Spooner, who is a nice guy, decided to share some knowledge with the community. You will find a big list of freebies including effects, backgrounds and textures, Photoshop brushes and patterns. The other very cool thing about Spoon Graphics is that you can find amazing Photoshop and Illustrator tutorials. Check the blog as well (it's a well of inspiration all right!).
So there you have it - 5 sites that offer quality products for free, for both print and web design. You can use them for inspiration or to ease your work. You can purchase premium resources as well from almost most of those sites and you won't be wrong.
Now let's take a look of our second part of the Best Free Image Websites. Back in January we released a Top 6, now we'll have a Top 8 :D
1. Best Stock Photo Free
Best Stock Photo Free is a great site that provides free stock images in a great number of categories. The images might use different licenses so you need to be careful what you can and cannot do with a certain image. It's always best to read all licenses and then check the image specific license.
2. Death to the Stock Photo
The name might be scary - Death to the Stock Photo, but those guys are all about peace. You can sign up in their email list and you will receive amazing free photos every month. You can read more about them here.
3. Good Free Photos
Good Free Photos is an interesting project brought to us by Yinan, a cool photographer, who has categorized most of the images by location. So if you need to, per example, make something about Brazil, you can easily go to the Brazil category and get amazing photos from Rio or Sao Paulo. Same goes for many other countries with amazing scenery. All images are under the public domain license.
I was a bit disappointed to not see Bulgaria there, but hey - we are a small country and I hope that soon we'll find our own category on Good Free Photos :)
4. Gratisography
Gratisography is the next site delivered by Ryan McGuire. The site is all about sharp and clean images with vibrant colors. Each image has its own story to tell. To be honest I would very much like to use all of the images :D
5. OneLeft Media
OneLeft Media is a project created by Lior Mazliah. The site offers sets of free images, called collections, and each and every one is amazing. I really liked the No Copyright Restrictions - No Bullshit license. Check this site for sure!
6. Pexels
Pexels is another great site with rich image library and different categories. All images are licensed under the Creative Common Zero license and can be used for both personal and commercial projects.
7. Rawpixel
Rawpixel is really an amazing site for free stock images with almost everything you'll ever need to use in your project. The license also allows you to use the photos for commercial and personal projects. Just make your account and start using those amazing assets.
8. Visual Hunt
Our last suggestion is Visual Hunt. Great amount of images and most of them come with the Creative Common Zero license as well, so you can do whatever you want with those images.
