Trying to implement H1 in articles' titles in category blog layout

I don't know what I am missing.
I changed the default.php in /templates/it_oxygen/html/com_content/article according to your suggestions :

<h1 itemprop="name">

<?php echo $this->escape($this->item->title); ?>

</h1>

But I can't see any change in the page after refreshing
I did clear cache, expired cashed, clear chrome cache

Any idea?
