Support Forum

Rockettheme is permanently closed. For me, who has followed Rockettheme's development and used the software for almost two decades, this is bad news, albeit expected.

In search of a team to continue this journey with Gantry, I joined your group and created the first two websites, Royalty and Beauty. However, I noticed that they haven't been updated in some time, which is a concern given the overall situation.

I just upgraded my extended subscription and would appreciate your feedback and confirmation. Do you plan to continue developing this type of template platform in the near future?

Despite the extremely stable, powerful, and agile mobile platform for all devices, there seems to be a general lack of interest in further development. Is this just me, or does this mean the end of the Gantry project and the template creation associated with it?

    Good morning Riccardo,

In case you haven't seen the notification. Gantry has a new steward.

Tiger12 is now the official steward of Gantry and gantry.org, the powerful theming framework that has shaped websites across WordPress, Joomla, and Grav for over a decade. Gantry has long been trusted by developers and organizations for its flexibility, speed, and clean design principles. We’ve crafted with it. We’ve relied on it. And now—we’re building its future.

Gantry’s success is built on the vision and dedication of Andy Miller and the team at RocketTheme. Their innovative work laid the foundation for a framework trusted by thousands. We are honored that they have officially chosen us to carry this legacy forward and continue the development of Gantry into the future.

    Please see full announcement here:

    Project roadmap coming soon!

From the discussion, they will continue to develop Gantry 5 for all 3 platforms going forward. So while RocketTheme has closed, the base templates, Hydrogen & Helium, will continue to be developed with the Gantry 5 framework. This means that businesses like Inspire Theme can continue to create templates based on Hydrogen, and who knows, maybe once the dust has settled and a roadmap has been put together so we see a clear future for Gantry 5, we may start seeing new templates built on Gantry 5.

    Thanks, Michael.
When I joined InspireTheme, RT was in a very stagnant situation following Marc's untimely death. Practically nothing had happened for almost two years. As far as I remember, I had found very few companies at the time that created joomla templates with Gantry. It was clear from RT's internal forum that most joomla professional users like me had ended up there.

I've only been following the Gantry situation indirectly via GitHub and had the feeling that there was a stalemate there as well. I'm very happy to read that this project hasn't been abandoned like others. That Gantry's potential has been recognized and is now being continued.

I wish you all the best and sincerely hope that the new developing team will revive this web platform and that InspiritTheme will also get moving with official updates.

    Hey Riccardo,

Michael explained the situation pretty well (thanks Michael!)

A new company has taken the Gantry 5 project which is great news!

Regarding our templates and particles - we update them whenever they need to be updated, whenever there is a bug or something.
For now, all our products are very stable and do not really need to be updated.
That being said, later on this year we will probably update the Quickstart packages of our templates so they come with Joomla 5.

We do not have plans to release new products in the next few months, but who knows... let's see what the new company behind the Gantry 5 framework will do with it ;)

    Hi Ivo!
It's nice to hear from you every now and then. I'd like to share my perspective to better explain my concerns. I started using your templates last year and uploaded the first two for smaller clients. However, I have over 30 websites in production managed with RT templates—even some using Joomla 3 (which the clients don't want to update!).
I'm not exactly young anymore, and I'm pursuing this activity alongside my retirement (the Italian pension is ridiculous!). So, I'm a boomer who doesn't want to get to grips with new platforms like Grav from scratch anymore—which seems to be so popular these days.
I was very happy with RT and Gantry (I've followed all versions over the years!) and developed a close forum friendship with Mark! His death was an unexpected disaster, and I'm sure it also deeply undermined RT.
Now I have to think about the next few years (at least five!) of updates and new installations. For the reasons mentioned above, I'm sticking with the knowledge I acquired with Joomla and Gantry. I want to find a single partner for templates and renew and expand on just that part of my work.

    Thanks Riccardo!

    I see what you mean.
What I can say is that as long as Gantry 5 is good (as long as it is compatible with the latest Joomla and PHP versions) we are also good.
By "we" I mean InspireTheme and all our products.
Gantry 5 is the underlying platform which does pretty much everything for our products.

I'm saying all this because if the new company that just took the Gantry 5 project is serious, and if they keep the framework compatible with the latest PHP versions and with the upcoming Joomla 6, our templates will be perfectly fine for the next 5 years :)

Thank you, Ivo, for your endorsement. Let's all hope that many web developers will appreciate this project! I occasionally have to intervene on other platforms for support needs, and I'm increasingly convinced of the exceptional nature of Gantry and its management vision.

Thanks for this! We are in a similar situation and deciding whether to stick with Gantry 5 templates (we were using both Rocket THemes and Inspire) or jump ship and start using a new template developer that does not use G5. I am happy to hear that G5 may still have a future. It is a great piece of technology.

We also would like to see new templates - yes your templates are really great and can be made into also many type of design but we would love to see some innovation to inspire us and include some new design options.

Of course we have always appreciated your dependable support responses and professionalism in template creation but also want you to be aware we would love some new stuff even though we greatly appreciate the stability we have enjoyed with the old :)
